The sounds have been taken from my own research, where i created a questionnaire based on music and sound.

The reason birds is within the non-diegetic column is because the way I plan to use this sound, is by recording the sound seperate to filming and putting it in during the editing process.
Good preparation Ben, well done. Target:if the sound could originate from within the story then it is diegetic sound. Non-diegetic sound would be outside the world of the story- voiceover, incidental music, the echo of sound from another place...so the bird sound would still be considered diegetic - it is part of the beach world you have created. Diegesis is a Greek term for 'narrative' or 'story'.
