In this post I am going to explain who my target audience is and why.
I had a number of ideas for my target audience during planning, this ranged from individuals interested in sport to those with surfing as a hobby. I believe the best way to portray this would be as a children’s/early teens TV programme.
Ultimately I believed my ideas would be more suited to a children/early teens informational short film and could appear on a TV show such as ‘Blue Peter’. Having come to this conclusion the age range I will be targeting will be those between 8 and 15.
In terms of gender I hope that both male and female would want to watch my production but, as the cast is predominantly male I feel my targeted audience will attract mostly male attention.
Although the realistic aim is to target children and young adults, my production could also gain attention from adults with children. This is because my production could also be used as part of a holiday programme showing an attraction in the location of Cornwall which is a popular UK holiday destination.
Ben, this is thoughtful reflection on your work but I feel it would be 'safer' to remove all mention of television and focus on film only. See me for further comments on this.
